How Our Tools Handle Data

Client-Side Tools (Browser Only)

The following tools run entirely in your web browser. Your data never leaves your device:

  • Password Strength Checker: Your password is analyzed using JavaScript in your browser. It is never transmitted to our servers.
  • Password Generator: Passwords are generated using your browser's cryptographic APIs. Generated passwords exist only in your browser.
  • Phishing URL Detector: URL analysis happens entirely in your browser using heuristic rules.
  • Privacy Checkup: All browser privacy checks run locally. No information about your browser is sent to us.

Server-Side Tools

The following tools require server processing to function:

  • Email Breach Lookup: Your email address is sent to our server, which queries the Have I Been Pwned API. We do not log or store email addresses. The query is processed and immediately discarded.
  • SSL/HTTPS Checker: The domain you enter is used to connect to that website and inspect its SSL certificate. We do not log which domains you check.
  • DNS Lookup: The domain you enter is used to query DNS servers. We do not log DNS queries.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how our website is used. This helps us improve our tools and user experience. Any analytics we use:

  • Do not track individual users
  • Do not collect personal information
  • Do not use cookies for tracking
  • Aggregate data only (page views, general usage patterns)

Advertising
